Steps To Join:

Dear Prospective Member,

The Syracuse Pistol Club is a private club devoted to the sport of target shooting. The club also sponsors teenagers in the Venture Scouts program. Our focus is safety and providing a number of league competitions for our members - we also provide an occasional barbeque and other social gatherings for our members and their families.

To become a member:

      ·                     Be at least 21 years of age with a valid NYS Pistol Permit.

·                     Be a member of the National Rifle Association.

·                     Complete a membership application open by clicking here.

·                     Attend and successfully complete the SPC Safety Course. Email them to schedule a class here.

·                     Attend a monthly Board of Directors meeting and introduce yourself.

·                     Volunteer to serve and participate in work assignments.

 

Steps To Renew:

Did the dog eat your annual renewal form? Well, not to worry. You can download the annual renewal form here.

To summarize the steps:

  • 1. Fill out the form
  • 2. Write a cheque for annual dues
  • 3. Address an envelope to mailing address shown on form
  • 4. Mail... and your annual membership card will be mailed back to you.

Application Process Instructions

2.      Applicant attends and successfully completes the SPC Safety Course. Safety courses are held the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm. (approx. 2hrs.long) Registration begins a 6:30pm. For specific training dates or questions please email them here.

 3.      The Safety Committee will consider the prospective member for membership. The acceptance of new members is based on:

·         The successful completion of the Club Safety Course.

·         PM's willingness to participate in club activities (including work days).

·         Membership in the National Rifle Association.

·         Character and any other criteria deemed appropriate by the Board.

·         Adherence to the Club’s Bylaws and Safety Rules.

 4.      Attend a monthly meeting of the Board of Directors (first Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm), within the next three months and introduce yourself to the Board and members.

5.      Upon receipt of the dues, the Treasurer will issue a Member identification card. The card will be mailed to you within two weeks.  

NOTE: Prospective members should be aware that in order to select qualified members, the SPC Board of Directors reserves the right to accept or decline any application based solely on the judgment and discretion of the Officers and Directors.
